§ Entries will be accepted only between the hours of 2 and 7 PM on Friday, Sept. 17. No exceptions will be made. § All articles/items entered must be the work of the exhibitor. Entries are limited to one entry per person in each class. § An entry previously entered at the Big Rock Plowing Match may not be entered. Judges may not enter any class they judge.
§ Each exhibitor MUST have a 3”x 5” card with name, address, phone, and all entries listed. Please include Email address. o List each entry on a separate line, showing Section, Category, and Class. o Circle the total number of entries in the upper right hand corner of the top card. o Be certain your name is on each 3 x 5 card. Do not use back of cards. |

§ Each article/item MUST have a label (1” x 2”) with the Section, Category, and Class. Do not put your name on entries. |

§ Bring return address/computer labels – one per item – to be used on entry tags. Label not to exceed ½” x 1 ¾”.
§ Quality of workmanship, as well as beauty of the entry will be considered. § Ties will be split evenly. Any entry deemed unworthy will not be awarded a premium. Judges decisions are final. § All entries that take premiums in baking and candy will be sold at the Auction on Saturday: Junior Fair at 1 PM followed by Ladies Fair at 1:30 PM. § Prize money will be awarded immediately after Saturday’s auction in the Office (S.E. corner of lunch stand). § Prize money not picked up by 4 PM on Sunday will be considered a donation and will not be forwarded by mail. § Ladies Fair Building will close at 3 PM on Sunday. All entries must be picked up between 4 and 5 PM on Sunday. The Fair Management will not be responsible for loss or damage to any entry exhibited, but every precaution will be taken for the safe keeping of all entries. |

Special Awards In the event of a tie, Judges will determine the recipient of Special Awards. Harley Davis Memorial An engraved serving piece to the person winning the most ribbons in all classes. All ribbons count equally. The La Kone Co. $30 to the person residing in Big Rock with the most blue ribbons in all classes. Burgess Tractor Service – Big Rock $25 to the person residing outside Big Rock with the most blue ribbons in all classes. Ward Auction & Appraisals, Inc. – Big Rock $25 to the person with the most entries in all classes. Big Rock Lions Club $25 to the man winning the most blue ribbons in all classes. Shirley Dickson Memorial $20 for most Outstanding item. Award is chosen by the Shirley Dickson family and may not necessarily be a ribbon winner. Big Rock Plowing Match Association. $60 First, $40 Second, to the person with the most entries in all Baking classes. Section I, Categories B-H: Breads Cakes, Pies & Bars and Section II, Categories A & B: Breads, Crisps, Cobblers & Cookies. Needham Shop - Kaneville $25 to the person winning the most blue ribbons in Section I, Quilts. The Old Second National Bank $50 to the person winning the most blue ribbons in Section I, Categories B-H: Breads, Cakes, Pies & Bars Healy Chapel $25 to the person winning the most blue ribbons in Section II, Baked Goods and Section III, Candy. Gladys Butcher Memorial $25 to the person winning the most blue ribbons in Section IV, Canned Goods. The Ladies Fair is a showcase of our local talent in baking, canned goods, candy, handicrafts, embroidery, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and photography. Everyone, men, women, and children, are invited to browse the various categories and classes on the Premium Sheet and submit their entries for display and judging. In addition to almost two dozen categories and over 150 classes, there are Special Awards sponsored by businesses offering almost $600 in prize money, as well as an engraved serving piece presented to the talented individual who wins the most ribbons in all classes.
So, take a good look at the Premium Sheet, gather up recipes for
your favorite categories, finish up those handicraft projects,
and let your talents shine through with armloads of entries.

Class 7 1st $30 2nd $20 Big Rock Park Districk - MUST use this recipe Berdena Sorensen - Lemon Cake 1 pkg lemon cake mix 1 pkg instant lemon pudding mix 4 eggs 3/4 cup vegetable oil 1 cup water Mix all ingredients together. Beat well. Pour mixture into a greased 9” x 13” pan. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes or test with toothpick. Poke holes in top of cake immediately after cake comes from oven. Pour topping on cake. Topping: 2 cups powdered sugar 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1/3 cup orange juice Beat all until smooth. Pour topping on cake.
