Ladies Fair Recipe Book–Send Us Your Favorites

To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Big Rock Plowing Match and the Ladies Fair, the Ladies Fair committee will publish a book featuring the Special Recipes from the Premium List along with their backstories.

Share your favorite recipes from the categories included in the Premium List—cakes and cupcakes; yeast breads, quick breads, and crisps; bars; pies; cookies; candy; and canned fruit, jam, jellies and vegetables—from any year of the Plowing Match. You may also include a story behind the recipe.

Download the form. Complete it electronically (this form requires Adobe Acrobat, download it free here)  and return by email or print and send by mail NOW. The deadline to submit recipes is March 31.

Ladies Fair Recipe Book will be available for purchase at the 125th Plowing Match in September, but preorders are being accepted at a discounted price until May.

Ladies Fair ALERT

German Chocolate Cake should have been on the 2018 Premium List, but was omitted in error. So, please do bake the cake and enter it in Category C – Layer Cakes, Class 5 – German Chocolate Cake.

In 2017, the cake was our special recipe and did not get re-listed within the category in 2018. So sorry for any inconvenience.

Please help us get the word out – we are emailing everyone in our email group and posting on both Facebook and the Big Rock Plowing Match website. Thanks so much.
